How Can I Develop Immunity To Cold Sores?

By: Denny Bodoh

You can be immune to cold sores by taking a good vitamin and mineral supplement every day. Here is what you should be doing right now to build immunity to cold sore outbreaks. Thousands are doing this every day and you can too.

Whenever your body encounters a virus infection, it builds a defense army of anti-bodies designed to seek out and eliminate the invading germ. To create these anti-bodies, your system needs a full complement of vitamins and minerals.

Your body not only hosts the virus that causes cold sores, but contains a multitude of other viruses as well. Believe it or not, you may even have the poliovirus in you. The good news - your body defenses keep these viruses dormant. You are considered IMMUNE to many of these viruses if your body defenses keep them from becoming active.

There are eight strains of the herpes simplex virus that we know of. The two strains responsible for cold sores are herpes simplex type 1 and type 2. The other five strains have been identified as causing diseases such as chickenpox, mono, and shingles.

Yes - chickenpox is closely related to cold sores. It is a terrible disease to suffer as an adult. Although many of us are carrying the virus, we do not get it because we have developed immunity to it.

Cold sore viruses are very small sub-microscopic living particles. Small enough, actually, that many can hide inside a single nerve cell. They are, in truth, a parasite. They need a host to survive and reproduce themselves. The virus that causes cold sores, fever blisters and oral herpes can only recreate themselves by forcing your cells to become virus-cloning factories.

As you probably are aware, viruses are very survival oriented. Every time we invent a new drug, the germ that we are targeting soon becomes immune to it. Acyclovir, and other spin-offs of this drug, were initially successful against herpes -but now are becoming almost useless. The key to successfully curing a viral disease is to aid your body in building a strong immunity to it.

Our bodies were created to take care of themselves. Whenever any virus invades us, our body creates anti-bodies against that particular strain. Every time you get a cold sore, your body creates a fresh batch of anti-bodies to add to the existing army. Our body will create new anti-bodies just as fast as the viruses mutate. If created properly - with sufficient nutrients - these anti-bodies can make you immune to cold sores.

Vaccines are particularly effective because they work WITH your body to create its own best medicine - by helping the body build super anti-bodies. There is no vaccine for cold sores yet. You honestly do not need one. Because cold sores are not life threatening, your body can create these super anti-bodies if you provide the proper vitamins and minerals.

There was a time, not too many years ago, when you could be reasonably healthy from the nutrients provided by fruits, vegetables and meats. Today, scientists have proven that vegetables and fruits have dramatically less nutrients than even 50 years ago.

For example, scientists recently announced that testing showed a tomato now has about HALF the nutrients of a 1950 tomato. Incredible but true. Researchers are now linking this to the huge increase in chronic diseases today. Also, some doctors are suggesting this may be one reason more people are getting cold sores - and getting them more often.

Hopefully I have helped you understand the importance of taking a daily vitamin and mineral regimen. Simply put, it helps build better and more powerful anti-bodies. Many people today, using this method, are reducing and preventing cold sores in their lives. You can too.
